Moscow Planetarium enjoys successful VIP Launch Event and grand public opening
After 17 years of closure, the infamous Moscow Planetarium finally opened its doors to long queues of excited visitors yesterday.

Global Immersion's Martin Howe Confirmed as Panelist for SATE 2011
Martin Howe, CEO of Global Immersion, has been confirmed as a panelist for the 'Digital Dome Stories' session planned for the 2011 SATE Conference in Orlando.
This year's SATE (Storytelling, Architecture, Technology & Experience) will be hosted in Florida from 22-23 September by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).

Global Immersion Pioneers World's First 9D Cinema
We're hugely excited to be able to announce for the first time our pioneering 9D Cinema solution.
The theater is still very much a prototype, but a working one nonetheless, and has opens up significant opportunity for the themed entertainment and attractions industry.
Unfortunately we can't say much else at this time, but the people over at Blooloop have been granted exclusive access and have published their interview with our CEO, Martin Howe.

Global Immersion to Install Egypt's Largest Planetarium
The Child Center for Civilizations and Creativities, Cairo, Egypt, has contracted Global Immersion to design and integrate a premium Fidelity Bright™ digital fulldome theater into a brand new building on the existing site of the Museum. The new immersive experience will boast the country's largest dome screen at 21-meters (69-ft) in diameter and will open to the public in Q3 2011.
The esteemed Children’s Museum in the Heliopolis region of Cairo was founded in June 1996. The recent appointment of a development and expansion programme of the Museum included the new fulldome theater – continuing to engage young visitors in Egyptian culture, astronomy and science.
We will be integrating a Fidelity Bright™ digital theater into the new domed building which is currently under construction, filling the 21-meter (69-ft) dome screen with an ultra-high performance digital planetarium solution. The system is completely customized and will feature a wide range of technologies including a state-of-the-art 4K multi-channel projection and media playback system.

Global Immersion's Intensity 4D theater at Our Dynamic Earth, Scotland, is shortlisted for Most InAVative Leisure & Entertainment Project of 2010
We're delighted to announce that our recent install at the ODE Visitor Centre in Scotland has been shortlisted as Most InAVative Leisure & Entertainment Project of 2010!
Since opening to the public in April 2010, Scotland's first permanent 4D theater has generated significant interest, and has been recognized by renowned AV-publication, InAVate, for it's high level of technical integration, customization, detailed planning and system complexity.
The awards ceremony will be held on 5th February 2011 in Amsterdam where the winner of the award will be announced - watch this space!

TEA welcomes Rick Rothschild, Global Immersion's Creative Director (and former Disney Creative!), as President-Elect
A former creative executive with and current consultant to Walt Disney Imagineering, Rothschild's projects include directing the creation of Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, and bringing back the Captain EO attraction. Blending a unique set of entertainment skills developed over 40 years of experience in the world of theater, Disney theme parks, media and museums, Rick Rothschild brings a deep technical knowledge together with a strong creative perspective to provide both vision and direction to any project.
Rothschild is also part of Global Immersion's creative technology team supporting the development of unique planetarium and immersive theater experiences worldwide.

Moscow Planetarium to reopen in December 2010 with Global Immersion
We are proud to announce the renovation of the prestigious Moscow Planetarium with an opening date scheduled for December 2010.
Global Immersion has been selected as prime contractor to design and deliver four state-of-the-art digital theater environments into the new Planetarium – making this historic Russian landmark one of the most technically advanced facilities of its kind in the World.
Four of Global Immersion’s Fidelity™ and Intensity® theater solutions will be installed in the visitor attraction including a digital fulldome system integrated with a panoramic hybrid immersive display (to work with the optical star projector), large-format 3D experience, 4D theater and a 4.6-meter production dome complete with motion seats.
The theater solutions will be accompanied by a wealth of innovative systems ranging from render farms and production suites, through to a full suite of high-specification lighting, audio, real-time, playback and control configurations.
The Moscow Planetarium, which dates back to 1929, is anticipating more than 1.5 million visitors a year pending the grand launch at the end of 2010 ... look out for further details on this exciting project over the coming months on our website's news update pages

We're pleased to announce that our friends at the INTECH Science Centre in Winchester, UK, have renamed their dome theater as the 'Astrium Planetarium' in partnership with EADS Astrium - Europe's biggest Space organization. The renaming follows INTECH's double-win of the 'Business of the Year' and the 'Excellence through Technology' awards at the 2010 Winchester Business Excellence Awards earlier this month.
We would like to extend our congratulations to all of the team at INTECH, and wish them continued successes for the future.
