Geometry and Distortion Correction
The team at Global Immersion has been blending and applying distortion correction technology to spherical multi-channel display environments for many years. We refer to it as pixel management, and we gain many advantages through our approach.Our innovative technique comprises an image distortion correction system that allows fixed matrix projectors to be used in curved screen applications. It is a fully featured distortion correction component, which digitizes the video stream at full 24-bit color depth and delivers it on to the display.
This technical solution sits between the server solution and the projection display system – ‘warping’ the image and delivering it perfectly onto the display. This approach still maintains independence of image source and display device but provides maximum system flexibility.
